David Colman est un illustrateur qui travaille dans l'industrie de l'animation depuis plus de 8 ans. Il a travaillé pour plusieurs clients comme Disney Feature Animation, Disney TV, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Imageworks, Blue Sky Studios, Hasbro, Cartoon Network, 20th Century Fox, Fox TV Animation, Cookie Jar et bien d'autres.
David est plus spécifiquement connu pour son travail dans le dessin animalier. Il a d'ailleurs auto édité 3 livres (The Art of Animal Character Design, David Colman's Doodles vol. 1 et 2). Considéré comme une référence dans son domaine, il assure bon nombre de séminaires, conférences, lectures et intervient dans des classes et auprès d'étudiants. Il a été récemment exposé en solo et en groupe. Il a reçu il y a quelques années le prix Emmy du meilleur character designer.
