From September 24 to October 25, 2025, the Daniel Maghen Gallery will exhibit the artworks of Spanish comic artist Ana Miralles, in a major retrospective covering nearly 25 years of her career.
One of the greatest illustrators in the 9th Art!
A rare female artist working in the erotic genre, Ana Miralles made her mark with the now legendary series Djinn (published by Dargaud), created by the renowned scriptwriter Jean Dufaux. Her realistic style, mastery of watercolor and elegant lines have propelled her to the top of her field.
The first major event dedicated to the artist since the “white gloves” auction held in Paris in 2022, this exhibition brings together nearly 150 historical and contemporary artworks by Ana Miralles. On display will be direct color pages, illustrations and covers from all the Djinn albums from 2001 to 2016, as well as the superb watercolor pages from her latest album on the life of Ava Gardner, published in 2024.
The exhibition also unveils a series of watercolor illustrations created especially for the occasion around the world of Djinn. This exceptional artwork allows visitors to admire the artist's talent: her intricately detailed settings imbued with an orientalist atmosphere, her plays of light and transparency, and her spectacular effects of texture in the drapery of silky fabrics. All these elements form a backdrop for her female figures, truly captivating goddesses with untamed hair... her signature.
