The Daniel Maghen Gallery is, above all, a story of passion – that of its founder for comic books. As early as 1990, he began selling original comic book pages, at a time when the market for such items was still in its begenning, and opened his first gallery six years later. A second gallery opened its doors in 2003 on the 'Quai des Grands Augustins', before moving in 2018 to the prestigious setting of the 'Rue du Louvre', in the immediate vicinity of the museum and the Pinault Foundation. In just over thirty years, the Daniel Maghen Gallery has become a key player in the '9^th Art’ market and offers the largest permanent collection in Europe, comprising nearly 24,000 original works by over 300 comic strip artists and illustrators. The gallery organises a dozen exhibitions a year, on the occasion of book launches or to present retrospectives. For thirty years, the gallery has been exhibiting the great masters of the Ninth Art and leading contemporary artists, whilst continuing its quest to discover the creators of tomorrow.

Founded in 2005, the Daniel Maghen publishing house was born out of its founder’s desire to celebrate comic book artists and offers several series. The publishing houses publishes illustrated works such as art books and illustrated biographies. It also publishes children’s books, but its main activity is devoted to comic books. Its catalogue has nearly a hundred titles translated worldwide. The two organisations work in synergy, and a large number of the publishing house’s authors have been the subject of one or more exhibitions at the gallery.

After 30 years of exhibiting the masters of the ninth art and organizing seven reference landmark auctions with Tajan and Christie’s, Daniel Maghen launched his own auction house in 2019, Daniel Maghen Enchères et Expertises, dedicated to comic and graphic arts. Since its creation, almost 15 auctions were held and many records have been set. 'Daniel Maghen Enchères et Expertises' has the trust of many authors and legal successor : Alice, Batem, Bonhomme, Cosey, Cuzor, Fournier, Gibrat Juillard, Mallié, Meyer, Miralles, Pellerin, Rochette, Rosinski, Sala, Schwartz, Swolfs, Vance, Vallée, Will and collectors who entrusted him with historical art work of Franquin, Giraud, Hergé, Loisel, Manara, Morris, Pratt, Rosinski, Sempé, Uderzo.
