Following the success of last November's auction dedicated to Matthieu Bonhomme, the Daniel Maghen Gallery is honored to dedicate an exceptional exhibition to this artist, from February 2 to 26, 2022 (extended until February 26).
An exceptional command of arrangement
More than 200 original artworks will be on display in the exhibition that retraces Matthieu Bonhomme's career over the last 20 years. From Lucky Luke to Charlotte Impératrice, Le Marquis d'Anaon, Esteban, and Texas Cowboys, this adventurous artist has become an iconic figure in Franco-Belgian comics. He has surrounded himself with the best scriptwriters: Trondheim for Texas Cowboys, Vehlmann for Le Marquis d'Anaon, and Nury for Charlotte impératrice, while also developing his own stories with Esteban and his two Lucky Luke albums. Nothing in his pages is left to chance. And for good reason: this genius of drawing demonstrates exceptional mastery of composition, layout, and storytelling. Never static, his lines twirl and bring to life strong characters, both female and male, and breathtaking landscapes. These undeniable assets make his pages and illustrations collector's items. The exhibition is therefore perfectly timed to discover the immense talent of this now classic of the 9th Art.
