To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing. Works containing watercolor are particularly sensitive to light, unlike gouache and acrylic.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.
Born in 1973, Jean-Sébastien Rossbach—a self-taught artist and former musician—cut his teeth in the role-playing and miniatures gaming industry as a lead designer at Rackham (2000–2003), before making a name for himself on the international market with clients such as Wizards of the Coast (for Magic: The Gathering), Marvel, Dark Horse, and Random House. In France, he has illustrated the covers of Hyperion, A Game of Thrones, and The Royal Assassin for publishers like Pocket, Flammarion, and Bragelonne. Spotted by Paramount and Blur Studio for the sequel to the film Heavy Metal, and winner of the 2008 Art&Fact Award for Best Science Fiction & Fantasy Illustrator, he has published the art books Burning Inside (Café Salé, 2012), Mother (Daniel Maghen), and Chamanes.
