Florence Magnin masterfully combines pencil, watercolor and colored inks to illustrate poetic worlds inspired by fantasy, dreams and fairy tales.
To ensure that your pages are kept in good condition, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the media used to produce them. Although Indian ink is a perennial material, the paper support may change when exposed to UV light. Note that watercolor plates require special attention, as this medium is particularly sensitive to light. Pieces containing pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made of pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.
Florence Magnin is a French comic scriptwriter, artist and colorist, born in 1950. She is known for her poetic visual style, inspired by fantasy, dreams, and fairy tales. After a brief stint at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she began her career in illustration by designing sets for the Théâtre Astral in Besançon, before making a name for herself in the world of comic art. Denoël offered her several cover commissions for the Présence du futur collection, an experience that launched her career, which continued with publishers such as Fleuve noir, Mnémos, and L’Atalante. In 1990, she ventured into comic art and collaborated notably with comic scriptwriters such as Rodolphe, with whom she created L’Autre Monde (The Other World). She also worked on children’s books and role-playing game publications. Complete biography.
